Wan Hai orders 49,300 new containers

Wan Hai Lines has approved a major order for 49,300 newbuild containers valued at USD 118.1 million, strengthening its equipment fleet to support growing cargo demand and service reliability. The procurement has been authorised by Wan Hai’s Board of Directors and reflects the carrier’s ongoing investment strategy in fleet renewal and capacity expansion, according to DynaLiners.

The order is split between two leading manufacturers:

  • 26,500 containers from CIMC, totalling USD 67.57 million

  • 22,800 containers from Dong Fang International, totalling USD 50.09 million

On average, the new containers are priced at USD 2,395 per unit, which represents a competitive cost for standard dry cargo equipment and supports Wan Hai’s need for additional capacity across Asian and global trade routes.
