Portonave rolls out Brazil’s first electric reach stacker

Portonave has taken a bold step toward cleaner operations. The terminal has just introduced the first electric reach stacker ever purchased in Brazil.

The new machine runs entirely on electricity, producing zero greenhouse gas emissions. It’s a significant move in the company’s ongoing efforts to decarbonize its operations.

With an eight-hour battery life and the ability to stack up to six 45-ton containers, the equipment boosts efficiency without compromising on safety or performance.

Portonave sees the introduction of this equipment as more than just a technological upgrade. It is part of a broader investment plan totaling R$439 million, which includes the modernization of its machinery and infrastructure. By adopting cleaner technology, the terminal also aligns itself with global shipping’s push toward sustainability.
