Hartman Seatrade adds two Liebherr LS 250 ship cranes

Hartman Seatrade is outfitting its latest vessels with two LS 250 heavy-lift ship cranes supplied by Liebherr. Each crane can lift 250 tonnes, with a maximum outreach of 36 metres. Configured for tandem operations, the cranes can handle combined lifts of up to 500 tonnes, supporting complex cargo and offshore logistics.

The LS 250 cranes feature a low deadweight of 150 tonnes, optimised design, and modular Litronic control systems. The technology ensures precise, safe, and efficient handling in demanding maritime conditions. Operators receive real-time data, automatic load adjustments, and flexible system upgrades.

Vessel construction is underway in Szczecin, Poland, with final outfitting in the Netherlands. Prior to completion, the ships will call at Rostock, Germany, for installation of the slewing columns. The result will be fast, purpose-built vessels for heavy-lift and project cargo operations.

Hartman Seatrade Managing Director Teele Hartman highlighted the reliability of Liebherr cranes and the long-standing partnership since 2006. Niek Brabers emphasised the LS 250’s efficient design, precise handling, and global service support.

Delivery of the main crane components is scheduled in stages from 2027 through early 2028, ensuring smooth installation and operational readiness.
