“K” LINE takes full ownership of Wind Service subsidiary
Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha (“K” LINE) has acquired full ownership of K Line Wind Service (KWS), making it a wholly owned subsidiary.
The company purchased all remaining shares from Kawasaki Kinkai Kisen Kaisha, which previously co-owned KWS as part of a joint venture. The transaction was completed on March 31, 2026.
Strengthening offshore wind business
KWS was established in 2021 to support the growing offshore wind sector. The company operates work vessels and geotechnical survey vessels for offshore wind projects.
By taking full ownership, “K” LINE aims to streamline decision-making and improve operational integration. The move will help accelerate business growth and strengthen the group’s position in the offshore wind market.
Continued group support
Kawasaki Kinkai Kisen Kaisha will continue to support KWS alongside Offshore Operation Co., Ltd., another group company specializing in offshore support services.
The acquisition reflects “K” LINE’s strategy to expand in renewable energy and enhance its overall corporate value.
