Havila Shipping has not had its case upheld in Oslo District Court and will appeal the judgment.
In January and March, the company filed a lawsuit against DnB Bank ASA, Danske Bank AS NUF, and Swedbank AB (publ).
The banks have maintained that Havila Shipping breached refinancing terms by converting of debt to equity and conducting a bond issue.
In a statement, Havila said: “Havila Shipping does not agree with the judgment, and the district court's ruling is not a final decision in the matter. Havila has decided to appeal the judgment within the appeal deadline in January 2026.”
In January, the company described how it viewed the situation:
Reference is made to the stock exchange announcement 1 October 2024, informing that three bank lenders, and the bondholders in two bond loans had decided to have their debt settled at the end of 2024 in accordance with the terms of the restructuring agreement.
It was also reported that three banks chose to extend the restructuring agreement by one year related to two vessels in operation and four sold vessels.
