Introducing Gulf Of America Logistics: A Strategic Response to Rising U.S. Project Cargo Needs

A recent publication by the Louisiana Business Journal highlights the emergence of a new logistics firm, Gulf of America Logistics (GOAL), which aims to provide veteran-led solutions for capital projects throughout the Gulf Coast. Based in Bossier City, this company enters a thriving market characterized by substantial investments in energy and infrastructure.

Brent Patterson, managing partner and U.S. Navy logistics veteran with prior experience as senior vice president at Blue Water Shipping, leads GOAL. The firm is designed to assist clients involved in significant capital initiatives across various sectors such as LNG, petrochemicals, power generation, and infrastructure development.

“The Gulf Coast is one of North America’s most dynamic regions for capital projects right now,” Patterson noted. “With everything from hydrogen production facilities to carbon capture technologies on the rise, there’s an increasing need for specialized transport services—yet local options have been limited.GOAL aims to fill that gap.”

The team at GOAL combines extensive technical know-how with an understanding of local regulations and political dynamics. Their complete logistics offerings include transportation engineering, feasibility assessments, barging services, rail and trucking solutions, chartering assistance, customs clearance support, and health safety quality environmental management (HSSEQ).

“Our crew has decades of experience not only executing projects but also navigating Louisiana’s intricate regulatory landscape—from permits to levee systems,” Patterson explained.“Having weathered hurricanes and dealt with the region’s unique geography gives us insights that are crucial for minimizing risks associated with operations in such challenging environments.”

While primarily focused on U.S.-based capital projects, GOAL also extends its reach internationally through third-party logistics (3PL) support and multimodal transport solutions via its expansive network.

The leadership team has recently welcomed Rock Bordelon as a partner; he is well-known as the owner and CEO of Allegiance Health Management. Bordelon’s deep connections within louisiana’s business community enhance GOAL’s regional expertise substantially.

Another key figure is Chuck Paddock—a former executive at Ceres Barge Line specializing in steel transportation along inland waterways—while keith Lincoln serves as vice president of operations after holding a director position at Bertling Logistics Inc., bringing over two decades of global project experience.

“Our diverse backgrounds in forwarding services—including barge transport—and our knowledge about trucking and rail are essential for supporting ongoing investments here,” said Patterson. “As capacity tightens across these modes of transport due to increased demand, we’re prepared with effective solutions.”

Currently working on securing a port facility located in Cameron Parish while establishing exclusive agreements for asset-based trucking services within the area shows their commitment to growth.

“There’s definitely an emerging America First sentiment driving our mission,” Patterson remarked. “We aim to keep logistics contracts—and their associated jobs—within U.S borders while streamlining supply chains to reduce project risks effectively.”
