Revolutionizing Rail Bookings: How Software Integration Transforms Freightliner Operations
According to a recent announcement from tideworks Technology, the company has successfully integrated its Intermodal Pro rail terminal operating system with a third-party automation platform called Decisions. This collaboration is specifically designed for Freightliner’s terminals in the UK.
This integration utilizes Tideworks’ advanced business rules engine along with an improved planning API to transmit planning data directly to Decisions. The platform then applies specific rules tailored for each terminal, automating the booking process and replacing what used to be tedious manual tasks. This not only enhances interaction but also boosts data accuracy significantly.
Tideworks Technology President Thomas Rucker expressed enthusiasm about this advancement on May 29, stating, “This integration represents a notable leap in Freightliner’s journey towards digital change. By simplifying intricate rail bookings through smart automation, we’re enabling Freightliner to cut down on planning time while enhancing data precision and increasing throughput at terminals.”
Chris Cavanagh, who manages Terminal systems at Freightliner, noted that they have already observed notable improvements in both the speed and reliability of their planning processes.
