Air Canada Launches New Transatlantic Route Connecting Prague and Toronto
As reported by Air Canada, the country’s leading airline, a new transatlantic route has officially launched, connecting Czechia with Canada.
The inaugural flight landed in Prague on June 7th, greeted by a celebratory water cannon salute adn an official welcome led by Jiří Pos, the CEO of Prague Airport.
The first flight from Prague to toronto (AC935) took off at 1:40 PM for its journey across the Atlantic.
This new service marks a notable milestone not just for Air Canada but also for enhancing connections between Czechia and Canada as it is indeed currently the only direct link between these two nations.
The introduction of this route aims to boost tourism on both sides of the ocean while reconnecting families and friends. It also opens doors for fresh business ventures between these countries.
This seasonal service will run three times weekly—departing from Prague every Monday,Wednesday,and Saturday afternoon—and will reach Ontario in under nine hours.*
The return flights leave Toronto each Tuesday, Friday, and Sunday evening to arrive back in Prague the next day.

Nedime canipek-Konuksever from Air Canada expressed excitement about returning to Prague after more than five years. “We’re thrilled to offer this unique direct connection,” she said. “With millions living within two hours of our airport here in Prague, we anticipate strong interest not just for trips to Canada but also onward travel into places like Mexico or even Caribbean destinations.”
“This route’s revival is notably exciting since it had been absent since before COVID-19,” noted Jiří Pos. “We expect around 25k passengers this year alone.” He added that they were pleased with Air canada’s decision to use larger aircraft than initially planned for this route.
