The Directorate General of Shipping issued an advisory for all the Indian seafarers and Indian-flagged ships in Iranian ports or crossing through the Strait of Hormuz to be cautious, after Israel attacked Iran.

It also advised seafarers to remain vigilant and avoid unnecessary movement, and adhere to local safety protocols and other regulations for their own safety.

RPSL agencies, shipping companies and maritime stakeholders were also requested to regularly oversee the safety of the crew members and ships and to stay up to date via official channels.

Per international reports, Israel has also carried out strikes at several places in Iran.

MEA said in a statement that they are deeply concerned about the latest conflict between Israel and Iran and are monitoring the situation closely, including reports about attacks on nuclear sites.

India has requested that both sides avoid any escalatory steps. MEA also said that existing channels of dialogue and diplomacy should be used to de-escalate the situation and solve the underlying issues.
