New endeavour looks at developing liquid carbon transport
“K” Line Energy Shipping (UK) Limited (KLES) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Yinson Production to jointly develop and market solutions for transporting and injecting liquefied CO2.
The partnership will focus on creating a floating storage and injection unit (FSIU) and a liquefied CO2 carrier, with a particular emphasis on carbon capture and storage (CCS) projects in Europe. As explained, FSIUs offer a reliable and cost-effective solution for such offshore CCS projects. One example is the Havstjerne carbon storage project in Norway, 40% owned by Stella Maris C
