Kongsberg Maritime opens new offices in Jakarta and Batam

Kongsberg Maritime is growing its footprint in Southeast Asia with two new offices in Indonesia, one in Jakarta and another in Batam.

The expansion was officially announced during the Inamarine Expo in Jakarta. A ribbon-cutting ceremony marked the occasion, with senior company executives and local dignitaries in attendance, including Norway’s Ambassador to Indonesia, Rut Krüger Giverin.

Dedicated teams in both cities will handle local sales, service, spare parts, and aftermarket support. The goal is simple: faster response times and stronger support for Kongsberg-equipped vessels in the region.

”Indonesia is a vital and fast-evolving maritime nation, and both Jakarta and Batam are key hubs in that landscape. With over 200 shipyards in Indonesia, Jakarta is a major centre for shipping operations, government agencies, and maritime trade, while Batam has the highest concentration and plays a central role in regional shipbuilding and repair,” said Patrick Banks, Kongsberg Maritime’s Vice President of Aftermarket Sales, APAC.

”This move strengthens our presence and brings us closer to our Indonesian customers,” said company representatives at the event.

The new offices are part of Kongsberg Maritime’s broader push to deepen regional engagement and support growing demand from both commercial and government sectors.
