PFL announces bunker adjustment factor surcharge

Pacific Forum Line (PFL) has announced revised Bunker Adjustment Factor (BAF) surcharges applicable to all shipments across its network, effective 1 February 2026.

The updated BAF levels will apply to cargo moving between Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific Islands, with the following charges:

BAF levels effective 1 February 2026

  • Australia → South Pacific Islands: USD 336 per TEU | USD 19.78 per RVT

  • Australia → New Zealand: USD 144 per TEU | USD 8.47 per RVT

  • New Zealand → South Pacific Islands: USD 243 per TEU | USD 14.29 per RVT

  • New Zealand → Australia: USD 239 per TEU | USD 14.06 per RVT

  • South Pacific Islands → Australia: USD 361 per TEU | USD 21.26 per RVT

  • South Pacific Islands → New Zealand: USD 258 per TEU | USD 15.15 per RVT

  • Inter-Island services: USD 502 per TEU | USD 29.53 per RVT

Additional notes

PFL confirmed that reefer containers will be charged at a trade coefficient of 1.5 times the dry container rate per TEU.

The carrier also noted that BAF levels for New Zealand/Australia to Papua New Guinea and Cook Islands trades will be communicated separately.
