COSCO ups involvement in Hamburg with planned takeover of Konrad Zippel

The COSCO group is to acquire an 80% stake in German logistics provider Konrad Zippel, raising its presence in container activities in Hamburg after its 2023 purchase of a 24.99% stake in Hamburg port’s Tollerort terminal.

Germany’s Federal Cartel Office has approved COSCO’s proposed purchase of the stake in Konrad Zippel, although the potential deal still faces scrutiny from a national security perspective.
