Norway’s offshore wind service specialist Edda Wind has taken delivery on June 11 of the commissioning service operation vessel (CSOV) Austri Enabler from Gondan Shipbuilders (Gondan) in Spain.

The Austri Enabler CSOV is the fourth and last vessel in a series of four sister vessels from Gondan, and she follows the Nordri Enabler, Sudri Enabler and Vestri Enabler.

Gondan has over time successfully delivered eight vessels to Edda Wind, as the shipowner says.

The Austri Enabler and her sister vessels are designed to set a new standard in the offshore wind market and every effort has been made in the design to maximize the efficiency of operations in the wind farm, according to Edda Wind.

The newbuild vessel, fitted with a hydrogen-based propulsion system (LOHC), will serve as mother vessel for wind turbine technicians as they perform commissioning and maintenance work on offshore wind turbines. The 88.3-in-length CSOV can accommodate up to 120 persons in total.
