Kalmar partners with Kempower and SINEXCEL
Kalmar has launched a new range of DC charging solutions to support its electric equipment portfolio. The solutions were developed in partnership with charger specialists Kempower and SINEXCEL.
The partnerships combine Kalmar’s expertise in electric material-handling equipment with Kempower’s and SINEXCEL’s experience in DC charging technology. Together, the companies aim to deliver reliable, easy-to-use charging systems for logistics and terminal operators.
Kalmar and its partners are co-developing advanced charging systems that ensure full compatibility between charging stations and machines. The goal is to reduce downtime and improve the overall customer experience.
The new product range includes mobile chargers, integrated charging stations, and distributed charging systems. It also includes a megawatt charging system. DP World London Gateway will deploy the system to support a fleet of Kalmar electric straddle carriers scheduled for delivery in early 2026.
Kalmar will work directly with customers to design charging solutions based on operational needs. Smaller fleets can choose all-in-one charging systems. Larger operations will be able to deploy scalable, satellite-based charging networks. The solutions will be available worldwide.
Rony Thomas, Head of Product Management at Kalmar, said the partnerships strengthen the company’s ability to deliver complete electrification solutions. He added that Kalmar can now offer tailored packages that combine machines, chargers, and services while keeping operating costs low.
Jussi Vanhanen, Chief Markets Officer at Kempower, said the partnership will help speed up electrification across global logistics operations. He added that Kempower is ready to support customers as supply chains move toward lower emissions.
Ron Zhong, Sales Director of Global OEMs at SINEXCEL, said the collaboration will help power Kalmar’s electric machinery with high-performance charging systems ranging from 30 kW to 1,280 kW. He said the partnership is about building a more sustainable logistics industry worldwide.
