Textainer acquires Seaco, forms world’s largest container fleet

Stonepeak-backed Textainer has completed its acquisition of Seaco, the marine container leasing company, from Bohai Leasing’s subsidiary.

The combined fleet now totals approximately 8.3 million CEU, making it the world’s largest and most diversified container leasing portfolio. The merger strengthens Textainer’s position as a leading global provider of container solutions.

Olivier Ghesquiere, Textainer CEO, said the acquisition enables the company to offer enhanced global inventories, expertise, and service to customers.

James Wyper of Stonepeak highlighted that combining two industry-leading teams improves service capabilities and supports growth in the dynamic global market.

Nick Hertlein added that the partnership sets the stage for future success and innovation in container leasing.
