ONE acquires minority stake in Dalian Container Terminal

Ocean Network Express (ONE) has signed an agreement to acquire a minority stake in Dalian Container Terminal (DCT), strengthening its presence at one of Northeast China’s most important container gateways.

Located in Dalian, the largest foreign container trade hub in Northeast China, DCT is one of the region’s largest dedicated container terminals.

The terminal has an annual handling capacity of 6.6 million TEU and operates 14 container berths with a combined quay length of 4,390 meters. It is equipped with modern cargo-handling infrastructure and deep-water berths capable of accommodating large container vessels.

ONE said the investment supports its long-term network and port access strategy by securing capacity at strategically important regional hubs.

“This acquisition of a minority stake aligns with our strategy of ensuring access at key regional ports,” said Hiroki Tsujii, Global Chief Officer of ONE’s Product and Network division.

“The ownership stake allows us to collaborate with DCT and contribute to its continued infrastructure development and green terminal initiatives, further supporting Dalian’s role as a key gateway for international trade in Northeast China.”

ONE said the partnership is expected to enhance operational collaboration while supporting sustainability initiatives at the terminal, reinforcing the port’s position within global container shipping networks.
